Engineered for board-offs

Spin. Throw.
Catch.

The Trap Handle isn't just a grab handle — it's a precision-shaped, weather-proof kiteboard handle designed from the grip out for the way tricks actually work.

The shape

Every millimeter has a reason

Most kiteboard handles are an afterthought — a generic arch bolted to the deck. The Trap Handle is shaped around the three phases of a board-off: spin, throw, and catch. The oval cross-section, the asymmetric palm bump, the 85mm height — each dimension solves a specific problem.

Horizontal: 30-32mm for fast hand closure
Vertical: 24-28mm with palm-filling bump
Oval ratio gives instant orientation by feel
Smooth rotation with no flat-spot catch

Spins free

The oval profile is subtle enough — just 4-6mm of difference between axes — that the board rotates smoothly in your hand without catching or notching. No dead spots through 360°.

Catches blind

That same oval acts as a tactile compass. The instant your hand closes on the handle mid-air, you know the board's orientation and which way to adjust — without looking.

Fills the palm

The asymmetric bump on the underside adds contact area exactly where load concentrates during spins. Thinner on top so your fingers close fast, fuller on the bottom so it doesn't dig in.

85mm clearance

Tall enough to grab cleanly in the air, reach easily during water starts, and give your hand room to work during board-off sequences. No knuckle scraping on the deck.

The material

ASA — built for salt, sun & send

We print every Trap Handle in ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate), an engineering-grade thermoplastic originally developed for automotive exteriors. There's a reason we don't use PETG, PLA, or injection-molded plastic.

105°C
Heat deflection — won't warp on a hot roof rack or black sand
UV
Stable for years — no fading, cracking, or brittleness in direct sun
Grip
Matte ASA texture — actually grips better wet than smooth plastics

Why it matters

Not just a handle — a trick tool

01

Shape is doing the work, not grip tape

When the geometry fits your hand correctly, surface friction becomes secondary. The oval cross-section with palm bump gives you control through form, not friction — which is why it works just as well wet as dry.

02

Survives seasons, not just sessions

ASA doesn't degrade in UV, doesn't absorb water, and doesn't get brittle in cold. Your handle looks and performs the same after a year of daily sessions as it did out of the box.

03

Fits every major board

Available in widths for North/Cabrinha (17cm), Duotone (18cm), Eleveight/Core (20cm), and custom widths. Marine-grade stainless screws included. Custom engraving with your name and number so your board always comes home.

04

Precision-printed, not mass-molded

Every handle is 3D printed on Bambu Lab printers in multi-color ASA. This isn't injection-molded commodity plastic — it's engineered layer by layer with controlled infill for the right balance of strength and weight.
