Who we are
Trap Handle makes tall kiteboard handles and sells them at traphandle.com, to riders and to partner shops and schools. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Orders: your name, email, phone, shipping address, handle choices (colors, engraving, board size) and order notes.
- Partner accounts: the email you sign in with (Google or an emailed link), your name, and the shop or school details you give us in the application.
- Reviews: what you write, your name as you enter it, and any photo you upload.
- Board photos for color matching: if you use the color matcher, the photo is sent to Google Gemini to suggest colors and is not stored by us afterwards.
- Site usage: pages visited, the site or campaign that sent you, device type, and clicks on the site, counted without your name. We filter out bots.
Google sign-in
When you sign in with Google we receive only your email address, your name and whether Google has verified the email. We use them to identify your account. We don't get your password, contacts, files or any other Google data, and we don't post anything on your behalf.
How we use it
- To make, ship and support your order, and to email you about it (confirmation, shipping, payment).
- To run partner accounts: review applications, show your prices, process your orders.
- To ask for a review after your handle arrives, with an occasional discount offer. You can ignore or reply to stop them.
- To understand which pages and channels work, so we can improve the site.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Payments: Stripe, Venmo, PayPal or your bank (Zelle, check, wire), depending on how you pay.
- Shipping: Shippo, USPS and UPS get your name, address and phone to deliver your package.
- Email: Resend sends our order and account emails.
- Hosting and storage: Vercel, Upstash and Supabase host the site and store order and account data.
- Google: sign-in (if you choose it) and color matching (if you use it).
- Notifications: ntfy sends us a short alert about new orders and applications (name, items, total).
Cookies
We use a few small cookies: your currency choice, where your visit came from (kept 30 days, to see which channels bring orders), and a sign-in cookie if you have a partner account. We don't use advertising cookies. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits without cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as we need them for support, warranty and tax records. Partner account details stay while the account exists. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, except what we must keep by law.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop marketing emails. Email us or message us on WhatsApp and we'll take care of it.
